West Lothian cancer patient slams NHS Lothian for 'inappropriate' data breach

A cancer patient from West Lothian has hit out after discovering his confidential medical records were 'inappropriately' accessed by a member of NHS Lothian staff in a major data breach.

Martin Laing from Blackburn was contacted by the health board last week informing him of the incident, which is understood to have affected around 90 people.

Although he has spoken to Police Scotland, who are investigating, The 57-year-old says he feels 'left in the dark' regarding the breach of data.
