West Lothian animal welfare experts appeal for home for best pals

Animal welfare experts are appealing for a home for a pair of lovable best friends in their care.

Angel and Tilly are currently staying at Dogs Trust West Calder.

And their carers say Angel, a 14-year-old Border Collie, and Tilly, an 11-year-old Shih Tzu, have been lifelong friends and love nothing more than spending time together.

A spokeswoman for Dogs Trust said: “While they have independent personalities, the pair are happiest when they are with each other, whether playing a game of chase in the garden or jumping in the car to go on woodland adventures.

“Angel and Tilly enjoy making friends with everyone and are polite to four-legged friends they meet on their walks. They are very affectionate girls who love spending time with their owners and can’t resist cuddles on the sofa.

“As Angel and Tilly are inseparable, they are looking to be rehomed together.

“These golden girls have plenty of energy and would like to live in a home with a large, secure garden where they can potter around and play together. As the girls prefer being in the company of their owners, they would like their new family to be at home for most of the day to give them lots of fuss and attention.”

If you think you could provide a home for Angel and Tilly or any of the 50 dogs currently available for rehoming, please contact the West Calder Rehoming Centre on 01506 873459.

You can also follow Dogs Trust West Calder on Twitter @DT_WestCalder and Instagram @dogstrust_westcalder for regular updates on events and dogs available for rehoming.

West Calder Rehoming Centre is currently recruiting volunteers to help with kennel cleaning, laundry, groundskeeping, maintenance and greeting guests in reception.

If you are interested in volunteering, please call the centre or email Volunteer Coordinator Garry Lee at garry.lee@dogstrust.org.uk.

The centre is also seeking new foster carers across the whole of the Lothians and the Scottish Borders to join its Home from Home scheme. If you could open your home to a foster dog or would like to find out more, please email HFHWestCalder@dogstrust.org.uk.
