West Ham XI vs Brighton: Starting lineup, confirmed team news and injury latest for Premier League game today

Edson Alvarez makes his first start for West Ham tonight away at Brighton.

Konstatonos Mavropanos joined from Stuttgart in a deal worth around £20million but the former Arsenal defender is nursing a minor injury so will not take part.

David Moyes does, however, have Thilo Kehrer to call upon after the centre-back recovered from the back problem which ruled him out of the win over Chelsea. Good timing with Nayef Aguerd suspended after his two yellow cards in the London derby.

Edson Alvarez could be handed his first start after coming off the bench against the Blues, while fellow summer signing James Ward-Prowse will keep his place in the starting line-up.

Michail Antonio impressed last time out, scoring a fine strike to re-establish West Ham’s lead, and should keep his place ahead of Danny Ings.

West Ham starting XI: Areola; Coufal, Zouma, Ogbonna, Emerson; Soucek, Ward-Prowse; Bowen, Paqueta, Alvarez; Antonio

Subs: Fabianski, Johnson, Cresswell, Fornals, Cornet, Ings, Benrahma, Kehrer, Mubama

Out: Aguerd (suspended)

Time and date: 3pm BST on Saturday, August 26, 2023

Venue: Amex Stadium
