West Ham United are monitoring the situation surrounding Kalvin Phillips with Manchester City set to make a decision on his future this summer, according to reports.
Phillips has failed to hit the ground running since his £42million move from Leeds United last summer. The 27-year-old has made 17 appearances this season, with only two coming as a starter as he struggled to displace the ever-present Rodri.
Pep Guardiola has been direct in his criticism of Phillips in recent weeks, with the England international struggling to find his place in the City system. Furthermore, the form of John Stones in the auxiliary midfield role has made matters harder for Phillips, with the Blues boss telling him to 'earn' his place in the team.
RATINGS: Gundogan good but Haaland poor in Leeds win
According to the Times, Guardiola will assess Phillips' future this summer and West Ham are keeping tabs on the situation in case he becomes available. The Hammers look set to lose Declan Rice ahead of next season and will demand around £100million, with David Moyes already eyeing potential replacements.
Elsewhere, the Sheffield Star reports that Sheffield United boss Paul Heckingbottom wants to see James McAtee and Tommy Doyle both return to Bramall Lane next season.
The on-loan Blues pair have been brilliant in south Yorkshire this season, registering 11 goals and seven assists between them as Heckingbottom's men secured promotion to the Premier League.
The report adds that both would be keen on returning to Sheffield and helping them fight for top-flight survival next season, although the league's rules dictate one must be signed permanently. Several other Premier League clubs are also said to be keen on McAtee in particular, including Aston Villa, Brighton, Bournemouth and Burnley.
