West Ham will face Tottenham in a pre-season friendly in Australia this summer after confirming plans for a tour Down Under.
The London rivals are set to meet on July 18 at Perth’s 60,000-capacity Optus Stadium, where the Hammers will also take on A-League side Perth Glory three days earlier.
The tour will be the Irons’ first venture outside of Europe since before the Covid-19 pandemic, the club having visited China ahead of the 2019/20 Premier League season.
West Ham were, alongside Crystal Palace, due to travel to Australia in the summer of 2020 to take part in the Queensland Champions Cup but the tournament was cancelled due to travel restrictions.
Last summer, as some clubs returned to major long-haul operations, David Moyes opted for a more low-key pre-season schedule, taking his players on training camps to St. Andrew’s in Scotland and France, and also playing friendlies in Switzerland and Italy.
