Michail Antonio believes Liverpool sold their 'best player' this summer when Sadio Mane left Anfield for Bayern Munich in June. The Senegal international decided to leave Liverpool to embark on a new challenge in his career after having just a year remaining on his contract.
After six successful years at Anfield, Liverpool honoured Mane 's wish to leave and they agreed a fee with the German champions. The Reds then brought in Darwin Nunez from Benfica for a fee that could rise to £85million if all add-ons are met.
Liverpool fans were delighted once the news broke of Mohamed Salah 's new contract, but West Ham striker Antonio thinks Mane will be a huge loss for the Reds.

Speaking on the Footballer's Football Podcast, Antonio was talking about Liverpool's chances for the upcoming Premier League season.
"I want to know how do you feel about losing Mane? In my eyes Mane was your best player, overall he was your best player, how do you feel about losing him?” Antonio asked his Liverpool supporting co-host.
“I don’t feel like they needed to sell him, I think that rivalry they had and that push that Mane was giving Salah and that Salah was giving to Mane, I think that was good for Liverpool.
"They had that rivalry on the pitch and demanded the best from each other. That rivalry they had and everything they had was good for Liverpool.”
