West Ham are closing in on the permanent signing of goalkeeper Alphonse Areola after the France international spent the 2021-22 campaign on loan in east London from Paris Saint-Germain.
Lukasz Fabianski remained David Moyes' preferred option between the sticks for the campaign but Areola was a regular in the Hammers run to the Europa League semi-finals. The 29-year-old was set to enter the final year of his contract at the Parc De Princes and he is now set for a permanent change of cities.
A report from Sky Sports News on Sunday states that West Ham are now set to sign him permanently on a five-year deal after an agreement was reached over personal terms. A £10.5 million fee is set to be paid for the World Cup winner ahead of the new campaign as Moyes looks to take his side back into the Europa League and he will be delighted to have Areola, given his previous comments on the player.
