West Ham United midfielder Pablo Fornals has broken his silence after being left in tears seconds after scoring a scorpion kick against Bournemouth on Sunday.
Fornals completed the scoring in the 4-0 win at the Vitality Stadium with an acrobatic scorpion kick at the end of Jarrod Bowen’s cross just seven minutes after replacing Said Benrahma, with the Spniard scoring for the first time since November.
After scoring the goal, Fornals struggled to hide his emotions, having started just once in West Ham ’s last 12 Premier League matches, despite playing 54 times in all competitions last season, three more appearances than any other West Ham player.

Speaking after the goal, Fornals said that he needed some luck to score the goal, adding that his improved run out off the bench has meant he needed to improve on his finishing as he netted his fifth goal of the season in all competitions.
“When you do something like that, you just need a bit of luck,” Fornals told the club’s Twitter account. “Like the ball bounced and went in or the keeper did a step to the other side but everything was good in that moment so everything was good in that moment so thank god for that.
“Now that I’m having that play time, I’m trying to improve my finishing so I was really happy and really lucky to have scored that beautiful goal.”
