West Ham United striker Gianluca Scamacca is set to miss the rest of the season and will undergo knee surgery on Saturday.
The 24-year-old Hammers striker has missed all four of West Ham ’s matches since last month’s international break with a knee injury and despite initial hopes that he would not need surgery, Scamacca will undergo a knee operation on Saturday.
Scamacca, who has scored eight goals in all competitions since his £30.5million move from Sassuolo is likely to miss all of West Ham’s nine remaining games in the Premier League this season, as well as the rest of the Hammers’ matches in the Europa Conference League.

“We’re only just back from Belgium really so we’re still getting ourselves together but hopefully, everybody is okay,” said Moyes.
“The only news is that Gianluca Scamacca is due to have an operation on his knee tomorrow, so we will be missing him.”
Scamacca is the only known absentee for West Ham heading into their London derby against Premier League leaders Arsenal on Sunday.
