Lukasz Fabianksi Made several decent stops and little he could do about either goal. Took a small blow to the head with about 12 minutes to go. 6
Vladimir Coufal Provided a good cross midway through the opening half for Tomas Soucek to head straight at David Raya but allowed the second goal to come from his flank. 5
Craig Dawson Took another knock to the face inside two minutes, meaning he spent most of the opening half with cotton buds up his nostril to stem the blood. Crouched down during a couple of breaks in play but was fine to continue and made an outstanding challenge late on to ensure Toney did not make it 3-0. 6
Kurt Zouma Last half an hour before hobbling off injured, the result of a hefty challenge from Christian Norgaard several minutes earlier that led to a free kick near halfway. He had received treatment and tried to continue before eventually realising he was unable to continue. At least it spared another hour of lame cat chants. 5
Aaron Cresswell Should have been less heavy legged considering he was shown a red card late in the first half on Thursday night but the left back allowed Bryan Mbeumo in behind too casually on a couple of occasions in the first half and was then punished for slack reactions for the opening goal. 5
Declan Rice Stood out because he was one of few to play near to his capabilities. Defensively sound and tried to feed a misfiring attack. 7
Tomas Soucek The Czech midfielder had West Ham's only attempt on target, a first-half header that was easily saved by David Raya. 5
Jarrod Bowen Subdued on the right wing and moved centrally when Michail Antonio was taken off. 5
Manuel Lanzini Unable to make a significant impact in 56 minutes of action, which is not massively surprising considering he has hardly trained since being in a car accident the week before last. 5
Pablo Fornals The most coherent of West Ham's front four but was closely marked and tracked throughout. 6
Michail Antonio Held the ball up well at times but did little facing goal and movement, or lack of, frustrated team-mates with Declan Rice having a notable complaint following a through ball nearing the interval. Failed to get a sniff at goal before being taken off immediately after Ivan Toney made it 2-0. 4
Substitutes
Issa Diop (for Zouma, 30): West Ham's chances of progression against Lyon will be severely diminished if he has to start instead of Zouma. 5
Said Benrahma (for Lanzini, 57): Got a warmer welcome from the home fans than visitors. Made a couple of threatening dribbles down the left without fashioning a clear opportunity. 5
Nikola Vlasic (for Antonio, 67): Plenty of effort, not much end product. 5
Not used Alphonse Areola, Andriy Yarmolenko, Ryan Fredericks, Arthur Masuaku, Ben Johnson, Alex Kral.
