West Ham United are likely to be heading to Denmark in a few weeks for their Europa Conference League play-off qualifying clash.
The Hammers will be taking on either Danish side Viborg or Faroe Islands outfit B36 Torshavn for a place in the group stages of Europe’s third club competition, with the two possible opponents playing a third-round qualifying tie to determine who will face David Moyes side’ later this month.
Viborg played host to Torshavn on Wednesday night in the first of two matches between the two clubs and cruised to a 3-0 victory in a very one-sided affair. Jakob Bonde opened the scoring from the penalty spot in the first half but Clint Leemans and Marokhy Ndione struck in quick succession after half-time to seal a comfortable first-leg victory.

As things stand, barring a miraculous turnaround, the Hammers look all but set to be heading to Denmark later this month, with Viborg heading to Torhsavn for the second leg of the clash on Tuesday night.
While the dates and times of both legs are yet to be confirmed, it is known that the Hammers will be at home for the first leg of the clash and are due to host Viborg or Torshavn on Thursday, August 18, and play the away leg a week later.
Before then, West Ham have the Premier League to focus on and will take on Manchester City and Nottingham Forest in their first two games, before the first leg. The two legs come either side of the Hammers’ third league match of the season at home to Brighton and Hove Albion.
