Nottingham Forest fans have given their reaction to West Ham’s 5-1 home loss against Newcastle United as the race against relegation hots up.
The Hammers are one of four teams, including Forest, on 27 points as nine teams battle against relegation this season. The Reds are currently in 17th place in the table, but are only out of the relegation zone on goal difference following a 2-1 loss at Leeds United in their last outing.
Steve Cooper ’s side could climb to as high as 13th with a win over in-form Aston Villa this Saturday - but they could also slip into the bottom three without a win as 19th and 18th place Leicester and Bournemouth play each other.

It’s the time of the season where eyes are also on other results, and fans were keeping a close watch of West Ham on Wednesday night.
Goals from Callum Wilson, Joelinton and Alexander Isak saw the Magpies come out as comfortable 5-1 winners. It was a result which keeps the Hammers firmly within striking distance of Forest and piles more pressure on manager David Moyes.
During and after the game, Reds’ fans took to social media to give their verdict. Here’s what just some had to say...
@NForestForever: West Ham just got slaughtered at home. It is still in our own hands to survive this season. #NFFC
@Owvnn: Reminder, we lost 4-0 to this west ham team. #nffc
@Puds1970: West Ham are taking a tonking at home & they have to play 3 of the top 4 at home. They aren't out of it yet. #NFFC
@DarthSpaceVader: Hammers are getting hammered, they're worse than us. #nffc
@Richwhitty63: Any 3 from 9 #nffc
@Battlemuch4WW: How mad is the premiership - we were a minute from a draw with Newcastle whilst they are thumping West Ham, who in turn put 4 past us. #NFFC Never give up hope, in Cooper we trust.
