West Ham linked with shock transfer that could lead to Nottingham Forest windfall

West Ham United are reportedly interested in former Nottingham Forest striker Ben Brereton Diaz - and that could lead to a windfall for the Reds.

According to the Sun, the Hammers are tracking the Chile international who has been in exceptional form for Blackburn Rovers in the Championship this season.

West Ham boss David Moyes reportedly called upon his former assistant Alan Irvine to run the rule over the forward and was spotted in the stands to watch him recently.

And should Brereton Diaz move to the Premier League, Forest will receive a cash boost after reportedly putting a sell-on clause in the deal which took the forward to Rovers from the Reds in January 2019.

Brereton Diaz's contract was set to expire at Ewood Park this summer but it is understood Rovers have the option of extending his deal by another a year and they are likely to trigger it to avoid him leaving on the cheap.

It has been reported that a £20m pricetag has been placed on the forward with Leeds United and Sevilla having also been linked with the 23-year-old.
