‘Mr West Ham’ was to the point when asked what the club’s Europa Conference League success meant to him during last night’s dizzying trophy parade through east London.

“The only thing I want to say is West Ham is not a football club — it’s a religion!” bellowed a slightly worse-for-wear Mark Noble from the balcony of Stratford Town Hall.
