Leeds United have confirmed that both sides will wear black armbands in tonight's Premier League match against West Ham after the Hammers announced the death of their joint chairman David Gold at the age of 86.
"Everyone connected to Leeds United is saddened by the news that West Ham United’s Joint-Chairman David Gold has passed away, the club tweeted out ahead of tonight's match. "As a mark of respect both sides will wear black armbands during this evening’s game."
Stepney-born Gold played for West Ham's boys team between the ages of 13 and 16 and, after a successful career in business, became joint-chairman of the Premier League club in 2010.
