West Ham 1-3 Man City: Erling Haaland nets hat-trick again as Pep Guardiola's side extend perfect start

Erling Haaland continued his sensational start to the Premier League as he helped himself to another hat-trick in Manchester City’s 3-1 win over West Ham.

After netting on the opening day of the season at Stamford Bridge and then following it with three more against Ipswich, Haaland took his tally for the season to six goals inside half an hour at the London Stadium and then seven late on to confirm victory.

That made it three wins from three for City to start the season ahead of the upcoming international break, with the bid for a fifth straight title off to an ominous start.

Having already headed over from close range, the City striker opened the scoring when he rolled a finish into the bottom corner, before grabbing his second when hammering past Alphonse Areola.

That was to restore the lead, coming after Ruben Dias had turned the ball into his own net to provide West Ham with an equaliser that there had been little indication was coming.

The hosts had the chance to level again shortly after the break, their best moments unsurprisingly coming on the counter. Mohammed Kudus found Jarrod Bowen, who played it back to the Ghanaian and the shot was lashed against the inside of the post.

But the match was put to bed with a little under ten minutes remaining when Matheus Nunes played Haaland clean through on goal, the dinked finish almost inevitable to seal victory and yet another match ball.
