NKDA New Town Kolkata

KOLKATA: The New Town Kolkata Development Authority (NKDA) has kicked off a pilot scheme to treat and recycle waste water for watering plants in parks, gardens, road dividers, and medians in New Town.

The initiative was started off from the herbal garden at Eco Park. Officials said that plan was to minimise the use of filtered water for gardening by recycling waste water collected from the sewage treatment plants and processing through reservoirs for further use like gardening or washing cars.
