KOLKATA: A 12-year-old tribal girl, Chaitali Murmu, performed the role of a priest for Saraswati Puja at a pandal at Illambazar in Birbhum on Saturday. The puja was organized by Rubani Gautam Sikshangan, run by Pritikana Jana, an LLM student.

Jana offers free tuition to the tribal children of Gopalnagar, who are facing problems with their studies during the pandemic. She is a disciple of Ramakrishna Mission and Math and had performed Saraswati Puja in the same place last year. This time, she mentored Murmu, a student of Class VI.
