KOLKATA: Of the 30 dengue cases reported in the Bidhannagar Municipal Corporation (BMC) area so far, 11 are from nine houses in Ward 31, which comprises seven blocks of Salt Lake-AE, BE, BF, CE, CF, DE and DF. After the cases were reported, civic teams sprayed larvicide around the houses and also cleaned up their surroundings.
"During inspection of the houses, where residents have been detected with dengue, our health workers found mosquito larvae breeding on the premises. We are urging residents to see that there is no accumulation of water in their houses so that mosquito breeding can be stopped," said a BMC health official.
