Dutch football legend Wesley Sneijder has explained why he believes Cody Gakpo will improve at Liverpool.
The Reds signed Gakpo from PSV Eindhoven during the January transfer window. So far, the 23-year-old has made five appearances for Liverpool but is yet to score his first goal.
Despite being renowned as a left winger, Gakpo has often been forced to play as a central striker due to Liverpool’s injury problems.

Sneijder, who is well known from his time at Inter Milan and Real Madrid, has given his view on Gakpo. The former midfielder went on to explain why his compatriot will eventually go on to thrive at Liverpool.
"Of course I'm confident [he can improve at Liverpool],” Sneijder is quoted telling Stats Perform, via Yahoo.
“It's always difficult to change clubs during the season. You don't get the time to adapt.
"Normally when you start with a new club in the pre-season, you have a longer period to adapt to the system, to adapt to the country, to adapt to everything, and to English football as well.
"Now he arrived and he has to play directly so it's difficult, and we should give him some more time because he's a great player with a lot of progression."
