Wendy Williams Addresses Recent Aphasia And Dementia Diagnoses Emotionally.

Williams acknowledges diagnoses of Aphasia and Frontotemporal Dementia.

Former talk show host Wendy Williams has recently addressed her diagnoses of Aphasia and Frontotemporal Dementia (FTD) in an emotional statement, expressing gratitude for the overwhelming support she has received from fans. Williams emphasized the power of unity and compassion in response to the messages she has received.

She also thanked the Association for Frontotemporal Degeneration for their support and efforts to raise awareness of FTD. Williams expressed a desire for personal space and peace to thrive while acknowledging the positivity and encouragement from her fans.

Williams' niece, Alex Finnie, mentioned that despite the diagnoses, her aunt can still engage in full conversations. However, due to legal guardianship restrictions, Finnie explained that Williams is the only one allowed to initiate communication.

Williams' health struggles have been well-documented over the years, including previous diagnoses of Graves' disease and lymphedema, as well as her openness about substance abuse issues. Her team revealed the recent diagnoses of frontotemporal dementia and aphasia in 2023, attributing memory loss and erratic behavior to these conditions.

Williams' health update coincided with the announcement of her upcoming Lifetime documentary, 'Where Is Wendy Williams?' The documentary is expected to explore her financial challenges, addiction battles, and ongoing guardianship situation.

Reports indicate that Williams has been receiving treatment for alcohol abuse at a facility since June 2023, as she has not been seen in public for nearly a year.
