Hollywood actor Rob McElhenney has vowed to help a Wrexham pub as they are set to donate a week's worth of profit to a local foodbank and charities. The owner of the Turf Hotel in Wrexham announced on Twitter on Sunday that they would not be opening this year to feed the homeless.
Instead the pub's owner Wayne Jones explained that he would be donating an "entire week's profit" in December to help out charitable organisations in the north Wales town. In a post on Twitter he wrote: "Sadly we will not be opening this year to feed the homeless.
"However I will be donating my entire weeks profits from Monday, December 19, to December 24 to Wrexham foodbank and other local charities. Anyone wishing to donate and help is very welcome to. Times seem bleak at the moment so it's vital we all stick together and do what we can."

The tweet has received an overwhelming response with some praising the owner for the "amazing gesture" and for being "incredibly generous". A handful of Twitter users from across the pond also vowed to help out with the pub's thoughtful gesture, including American actor and Wrexham AFC co-owner Rob McElhenney.
In response to Mr Jones' tweet the actor tweeted: "And we'll double it. Drink up everyone!" The actor's response to the gesture was also praised. Twitter user Ste Davies described the actor as a "top man". He said: "Couldn't love you anymore, it’s not just about the football or the TV show, it’s about the community and you and Ryan understand that".
This isn't the first time the actor and fellow co-owner of the club, Ryan Reynolds, have shown their love and appreciation for the Wrexham community and its people. In January the actors donated £10,000 to a page to raise funds for Sands UK after one of their players Jordan Davies and his partner Kelsey lost their newborn child Arthur.
In August the actors also donated £10,000 each to four-year-old Aria Hodgkiss, who had terminal brain cancer. It was announced last Thursday that Aria had sadly passed away.
