Welsh may be taxed for holidays in Wales under new tourism levy proposals

Welsh people going on holiday in their own country may have to pay a tourism tax under new legislation.

The Welsh government has launched a public consultation on whether overnight visitors should pay a levy on top of their holiday costs, the Daily Post reported.

The move is designed to raise some money from the surge in visitors that have been coming to Wales since the coronavirus pandemic stopped international travel, leading many to fall in love with the country.
