The Love Island 2023 contestants have been sharing their reasons for joining the winter edition of the popular dating show, which starts on Monday, January 16. Ahead of the launch episode, the new islanders have divulged all about their dating lives, personalities and what they find off-putting in a relationship.
One of this year's cast members is 20-year-old Anna-May Robey from Swansea. The payroll administrator, who describes herself as "energetic" and a "chatterbox", has joined the show to find a boyfriend who can make her laugh.
She explained: "I've been single for quite a while, my mother is bugging me, she's like, 'You need to find a boyfriend.' I'm just excited to try something new and I think going on Love Island is a good way to meet someone."

Anna-May has said she will bring fun to the villa. "I'm always up for a laugh, if someone tells me to go and dive in the pool I will probably do it," she said. "I'll bring energy to the villa, I'll get everyone up playing games! I'm also not afraid to get in someone's way; if I like someone, I'll let them know."
However, Anna-May says she's single because she is fussy and gets the "ick" easily. She added: "I also go for the same type of guy so I need to broaden my horizons, so I hope to do that in the villa."
And discussing what gives her the "ick", Anna-May shared: "I don’t like people who brag or who are really materialistic."
She added: "Another thing is watching a boy get his haircut and the barber pushing up the seat, you know the pumping thing? I used to go to the barber with my ex and I used to sit there and every time the barber would do it, I would have to look away."
Anna-May joins Michelle Keegan body double Olivia Hawkins, farmer and TikTok star Will Young, and student and influencer Tanya Manhenga in the South African villa.
Also in the 2023 line-up is science and PE teacher Kai Fagan, makeup artist Lana Jenkins, financial advisor Ron Hall, hair stylist Tanyel Revan, airport security officer Shaq Muhammad, and TV salesman Haris Namani. You can see the Love Island 2023 line-up in full here.
