The Grove hotel in Narberth in west Wales has topped the list of The Best Value 5-star hotels in the UK and Ireland, beating hotels in capital cities London and Dublin.
The Pembrokeshire based hotel hit the top spot of a ten-strong list which resulted from a study by luggage store app, Bounce, and had a total - at time of publishing - of 96.41% of 'Very Good' and 'Excellent' reviews, scoring an impressive 8.98/10 with its customers. Costing an average of £291.45 per night, guests can expect cosy and beautifully decorated bedrooms, award-winning restaurants and a warm welcome into a relaxing and luxurious haven.
This isn't the first accolade the gorgeous hotel, which dates back to the 15th Century, has received this year either. In July of this year, the luxury stay was named the best Independent Hotel of the Year at the prestigious Catey Awards after being shortlisted in the category in 2017 and 2020.

And it's not hard to see why. The hotel is located just a 15-minute drive from the coast and overlooks the town of Narberth and the Preseli Mountains. It is gorgeously nestled within 26 acres of grounds made up of woodland, well kept lawns and gardens and is surrounded by meadows. If the gardens weren't enough to entice you, it is set on a sprawling country house estate that is steeped in history - parts of it dating back as early as the 15th century and the property was once owned by the bailiff of Tenby who would have lived in the hotel's 'longhouse' with his family.
Made up of 26 rooms in total, guests can stay in the main building as well as cottages dotted around the grounds. Rooms vary in decor with some sporting a more traditional look while other have something a little more modern. It also has two restaurants on site. The Fernery, which offers fine dining and is award-winning, and the Artisan Rooms - more used for breakfast, lunch and dinner but equally as gorgeous. Ingredients for which come largely from the hotel gardens.
Alongside this recognition and the Catey's, The Grove had an incredible night at the AA Hospitality Awards in September. Writing on its website, it revealed: "We’re delighted to share that Grove of Narberth collected three significant awards on the night, achieving 5 Red Stars for the hotel, 4 Rosettes for its Fernery Restaurant, as well as the Wine List of the Year for Wales.
"Grove is now one of just 12 UK hotels to hold both 5 Red Stars and 4 Rosettes or above from the AA".
The Grove of Narberth slid in front of London's boutique Batty Langeley's hotel - which has 96.81% of reviewers raving about it with a 8.27/10 rating for its plush furnishings and dramatic aesthetics - and Dublin's The Marker Hotel which, at £290 a night, had 94.25% of reviews confirming they were 'very good' or 'excellent' with a rating of 7.96/10. With an award-winning spa, it is also described as having "ritzy interiors".
A second Welsh hotel was also included in this list - Palé Hall in Gwynedd, which ranked at number four. At an average cost of £340 per night, it has a stellar rating of 95.54% of 'very good' and 'excellent' reviews.
