Welsh actor Charles Dale has announced that he has split from his wife and is currently going through a divorce. Taking to social media, the 60-year-old former Coronation Street actor celebrated his birthday by posting a photo in which he could be seen standing on a rooftop garden in Tenby, wearing a t-shirt that read, 'Made in 1963'.
Charles wrote: "So, 60 today (WTF), unemployed, skint, going through a divorce (fine but tricky), but thanks to the generosity of my family and friends, feeling not too shoddy. In fact, one might say, downright chipper! Can’t think why, can you ?" The tweet is somewhat of a rarity for the actor, who has never spoken publicly about his wife.
Following the post, Charles was met with a barrage of comments from followers.

A third person said: "Happy Birthday young man! I flipping love those slippers too." And a fourth replied: "A new chapter in your future. If you do it right, the end of the book can be the most exciting and satisfying!! Have a lovely, lovely day, lovely Charlie!"
News of Charles' divorce and admission that he is "unemployed" and "skint" comes just months after he revealed he had made a huge career change and become a local councillor in Tenby. The actor also helps out with his family's record store business.
For many, Charles is best-known for his role as Dennis Stringer in ITV soap-opera Coronation Street from 2000 to 2002. After his character was killed off, he then joined the cast of BBC medical drama Casualty from 2007 to 2016. For more TV and showbiz stories, subscribe to our newsletter here.
