Fans awaiting the return of the popular Disney+ documentary series Welcome to Wrexham might not have to wait much longer.
The first season of the hit documentary series included 18 episodes which covered the takeover of the club by Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, as well as the Red Dragons' 2021/22 season, culminating with a dramatic 4-3 collapse against Grimsby Town in the semi-finals of the National League play-offs.
Following the airing of the final episode back in October, McElhenney announced via social media that the documentary series would be returning for a second season.
In a tweet, the actor said: “Oops. Sorry. Tonight, is the last episode of season 1 of Welcome to Wrexham. Season 2 will return next year.”

When will it air?
An official release date for the second season hasn’t yet been announced, however there is some speculation that the first episode could premiere in August following the end of the current National League season.
The first episode of the series was released back in August 2022, shortly after the season had ended in May. This campaign is set to finish slightly earlier this year at the end of April, with the play-offs scheduled to conclude in May. So, there’s a good chance that the new series will air in August.

Viewers in the UK can watch the entire first season on Disney+ via their app, online and smart TV. Disney+ costs £7.99 per month.
International viewers can watch the series on FX via Hulu with plans starting at $7.99.
What could be included in it?
It’s been a turbulent season for the non-league side and the second season will no doubt be covering it in full.
Some of the things that might be covered this upcoming season include the Red Dragons FA Cup run, their promotion battle against rivals Notts County, as well as the return of former Premier League keeper Ben Foster to the Racecourse.
The Red Dragons' upcoming friendlies against Manchester United and Chelsea in the USA could also feature in the latter part of the season.
