Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul has reaffirmed Thailand's commitment to becoming a reliable economic partner and attracting more foreign investment during talks with senior executives of the World Economic Forum (WEF), which praised the country's stability and invited him to attend its 2027 annual meeting.
The meeting took place at Government House on Monday when WEF Managing Director Maroun Kairouz paid a courtesy call on the prime minister.
Government spokeswoman Rachada Dhnadirek said Mr Anutin thanked the WEF for its engagement with Thailand, describing it as an important platform for cooperation among governments, businesses and other stakeholders amid geopolitical uncertainty and rapid technological change.
Mr Kairouz praised Thailand's political stability and governance, saying they had strengthened investor confidence and supported economic growth despite global uncertainty.
He also commended the government's economic management before inviting the prime minister to attend the WEF Annual Meeting 2027 in Davos-Klosters, Switzerland.
The two sides exchanged views on the global economic outlook and future development.
Mr Anutin said Thailand remained committed to sustainable growth despite global uncertainty, noting that the economy had outperformed expectations and foreign direct investment had risen significantly.
He said the government was accelerating regulatory reforms to improve the business climate, strengthen governance and support Thailand's bid to join the OECD.
He also highlighted Thailand's role as a major food producer and its strategic location in Southeast Asia.
