The Seattle Seahawks are making the journey to the Music City for the first time since the 2017 season. There, they will take on the Tennessee Titans. Seattle is looking to extend their winning ways, and snap a two-game losing streak to Tennessee – as they won 33-27 and 33-30 in the previous meetings.
Under head coach Mike Vrabel, the Titans have been routinely in the AFC playoff picture, even earning No. 1 seed honors in 2021. However, they are in the midst of another disappointing, injury riddled season like last year. At 5-9, Tennessee has officially been eliminated from postseason contention. They will also be without rising star rookie quarterback Will Levis.
However, this is a team to not look past. This has potential trap game written all over it. The Titans have a frustratingly unique ability to make opponents play down to their level. The way Tennessee is able to drag teams down into the mud with them makes them dangerous in their own right. If the Seahawks get too bogged down with needless penalties and missed opportunities, this could be a rather unfortunate Sunday for them.
Prediction: Seahawks over Titans 21-16
I expect a close game. The Titans are too well coached to be blown out by an NFC opponent who does not know them like other AFC rivals might. But the Seahawks have just restarted their season with a win over the Eagles last Monday night. With new life, I do expect them to do what is necessary to find a way to win.
This may not be the prettiest game, but style points do not matter in this league. Wins do. Seattle will do just enough to secure that outcome.
