Start ‘Em, Sit ‘Em is the ultimate look at the best and worst matchups based on a PPR scoring system in fantasy football. This column will not cover the elite players in the NFL like Patrick Mahomes, Christian McCaffrey or Justin Jefferson. Instead, I'll look at the players you have questions about who could exceed or fail to meet expectations at each position. For all of your final fantasy lineup decisions, be sure to check out my weekly player rankings which will be updated daily throughout the 2023 NFL season.

Week 11 Start ’Em: Tight Ends
Start of the Week
Trey McBride at Texans (1 p.m. ET, CBS): McBride, listed as a start ’em last week, went off for eight catches, 131 yards and 21.1 PPR points in a win over the Falcons. He has now scored 20-plus points in two of his last three games, making him an attractive option against Houston. Their defense has allowed nine-plus points to six tight ends, including Tanner Hudson, Kylen Granson and Cade Otton.

Start ’Em
Dalton Kincaid vs. Jets (4:25 p.m. ET, CBS): Kincaid continues to be a star for fantasy managers, scoring 15-plus points in four straight games. He’s also found the end zone four times in those four games, so he’s a trusted option in the red zone for Josh Allen. The Jets have allowed six tight ends to beat them for 10-plus fantasy points, and I’d be surprised if Kincaid didn’t make it seven this week.
Cole Kmet at Lions (1 p.m. ET, Fox): Kmet has been white hot in the stat sheets, scoring nine-plus points in three straight games including two with more than 17 points. He’s a nice option this week, as the Bears face a Lions defense that’s given up the seventh-most points to tight ends. This could also be a negative game script for Chicago, meaning they’ll have to throw the football often in the second half.
Luke Musgrave vs. Chargers (1 p.m. ET, Fox): Musgrave hasn’t put up huge totals in recent weeks, but he has scored a combined 22.5 points in his last two games. In fantasy football, that’s pretty good. He’s worth a dice roll against the Chargers, who have allowed five tight ends to beat them for 10-plus points and one (Travis Kelce) to score 35.9 points. Musgrave could be on the waiver wire, too.

Week 11 Sit ’Em: Tight Ends
Sit of the Week
Evan Engram vs. Titans (1 p.m. ET, CBS): Engram has been mostly consistent for fantasy managers, so he’ll be tough to sit with four teams on a bye at a thin position. I would keep in mind, however, that the Titans are very tough on enemy tight ends. Their defense has allowed just one tight end, Mark Andrews, to score double digits against them … and he had just 10.9 points. Beware Engram.

Sit ’Em
David Njoku vs. Steelers (1 p.m. ET, CBS): Njoku has been too hot to sit lately, scoring 10-plus points in four straight games and five of his last six. Still, I’d be wary of this week’s matchup against the Steelers. Pittsburgh’s defense has been tough on tight ends, allowing just one touchdown and the fourth-fewest points to the position. Njoku was also held to just 6.8 points against them back in Week 2.
Logan Thomas vs. Giants (1 p.m. ET, Fox): Thomas has seen his totals decline a bit, as he’s failed to hit double digits in four of his last five games with an average of just 8.6 points in that time. This week, he faces the Giants, who are a shell of a team but have been tough on tight ends. In fact, their defense has allowed just two touchdowns and the league’s lowest catch rate (58.3%) to the position.
Cade Otton at 49ers (4:05 p.m. ET, Fox): Otton, listed as a sit ’em last week, came crashing back to earth with a three-point stinker against the Titans. He’ll be hard pressed to make a big impact this week, too, as he faces a tough 49ers pass defense on the road. Just two tight ends have scored double digits against them, and just one (T.J. Hockenson) has beaten the Niners for more than 11.3 points.
