According to the latest India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecast, multiple states are expected to receive heavy rain, while isolated areas could witness very heavy rainfall.
The weather outlook comes as the monsoon trough remains active and south of its normal position. A low-pressure area has also formed over the north Bay of Bengal off the West Bengal-Bangladesh coasts and is likely to intensify into a well-marked low-pressure area before potentially concentrating into a depression.
