Weather Today: India is likely to see another spell of active monsoon weather on Tuesday, August 11, with the India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasting widespread rainfall across several parts of the country. Heavy to very heavy rainfall is expected in parts of northwest, central, east, northeast and west India over the coming days, while thunderstorms, lightning and strong winds are also likely in several states.
The monsoon trough remains active and lies south of its normal position in the lower tropospheric levels. A low-pressure area over north Madhya Pradesh and adjoining areas, along with other weather systems over the Bay of Bengal and central India, is expected to influence rainfall activity across the country.
