Weather: New Year’s Eve travel chaos looms as UK set to be battered by 70mph winds

Britons have been warned of severe travel disruption ahead of New Year’s Eve with winds of up to 70mph forecast in parts of the UK.

The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning until 11pm on Tuesday which covers large swathes of Northern Ireland, Scotland and the North of England.
