When will it stop raining? Weather forecast for Greater Manchester as heavy rain hits region

A Met Office yellow weather warning for heavy rain remains in place for Greater Manchester, with flooding hitting parts of the region.

The alert kicked in at 6am today (Tuesday) and is in place until 8pm tonight. It covers all of our region, as well as parts of Cheshire, Merseyside and Lancashire.

Forecasters predicted that persistent, heavy downpours today could lead to flooding 'of a few homes and businesses'. Travel disruption is expected after the roads and motorways across the region were hit badly.
