It will be a chilly start to the week in Greater Manchester with a yellow weather warning for ice in place.
The Met Office warning - which covers our region as well as much of northern England, the Midlands, Wales and Scotland - came into place at 6pm last night (Sunday) and will last until 10am this morning. According to forecasters, there may be some problems on the roads this morning due to the icy conditions.
The Met Office said icy surfaces 'are expected to develop following wintry showers leading to some difficult travelling conditions'. Some injuries from slips and falls on icy surfaces are possible, as well as icy patches on the roads, pavements and cycle paths.

The warning comes as a cold snap hits the UK, with temperatures dropping to below 0C in many areas bringing the possibility of snow showers. Deputy Chief Meteorologist, Helen Caughey, said: "After a spell of wet and mild weather to start 2023, a brief cold spell will change the feel of our weather across the UK for a few days next week.
"As a northerly flow establishes, we’ll see temperatures decline with overnight frosts returning and the chance of wintry showers in the north. It will certainly feel cold in all regions too, with the northerly winds creating a notable windchill.”
In Greater Manchester, people will wake up to temperatures of around 3C this morning - though it will feel more like 0C, according to the Met Office. The mercury is set to drop throughout the day, falling to 1C by around 6pm then 0C by 9pm.
This morning is set to be mostly cloudy before some sunny spells this afternoon. Forecasters predict it will be a mostly clear night tonight before another cloudy and cold day tomorrow.
Temperatures are not expected to rise above around 2C tomorrow in our region, with some sleet showers predicted tomorrow evening. Forecasters predict the mercury will rise slightly on Wednesday to highs of around 5C.
