Weather Alert: Gradual fall in temp over NW & East India from Monday

Temperature to cool down gradually

New Delhi: India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Saturday said that the minimum and maximum temperatures over Northwest and East India are expected to decline by 2-3 degrees Celsius from tomorrow.

“Gradual fall in temperatures over these regions is likely till 7th November,” the IMD added.

Fall in both Maximum and Minimum
According to the weather department, “Fall in both Maximum and Minimum Temperatures by about 2-3℃ over Indo Gangetic plains was reported during past 24 hours.

“No significant change registered over remaining parts of Northwest, Central and East India,” the IMD said.

“Maximum Temperatures are above normal by 2-4℃ over plains of Northwest, Central and East India. Minimum Temperature are above normal by 1-2°C over Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh; by about 2-4°C over Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Gangetic West Bengal, Odisha and by 2-6°C over Bihar, it said.

Slight fall in Delhi
There has been slight fall in both maximum and minimum temperature over Delhi and NCR during past 24 hours. The Maximum and Minimum temperature over Delhi are in the range of 32-34 degrees Celsius and 14-19 degrees Celsius respectively, it said.

“The maximum temperature was above normal by 2-30C and minimum

temperature was above normal by 1-20C over some places in the region,” the IMD said.

The IMD further predicted that mainly clear skies condition with predominant surface wind from Northwest/Southwest directions with wind speed reaching 08–18 kmph prevailed during daytime and calm winds during night. Currently clear sky condition with calm wind prevailed over the region.
