Met Eireann has issued a "weather advisory" for the entire country this weekend as a brutal washout is expected.
The alert is currently in effect and will remain so until 11pm on Friday, with forecasters warning of "further rainfall this weekend and next week will cause localised flooding due to waterlogged soils and high river levels".
The forecast for the rest of today, Friday, shows things remaining dry with isolated showers - mostly in Ulster. It will become a little cloudier with some bright spells, but cloud will thicken this evening and outbreaks of drizzle will develop in the southwest.
