A "change" in the weather is being forecast for later this week as temperatures are set to drop, but it is to remain dry. Temperatures on Wednesday (September 14) could reach highs of 22°C, but BBC Wales weather forecaster Sue Charles says it is going to feel "noticeably cooler" by the end of the week.
While it is cooler, the Met Office says it will be dry in Wales over the weekend with "lots of sunshine".
BBC forecaster Matt Taylor says that "cooler days and chillier nights" are on the way, adding: "You'll notice the difference most in some southern areas. A touch of grass frost even possible for a few this weekend."
The Met Office forecast for Wales on Wednesday for a dry day with plenty of sunny spells, while tonight will turn chilly under starry skies.
The outlook for Thursday to Saturday says: "Breezy on Friday with sunny spells and a few scattered showers in the afternoon. Dry over the weekend lots of sunshine, lighter winds and some cold nights."
How temperatures in the south of the UK could drop over this week:
BBC Wales forecaster Sue Charles said on Wednesday: "It is generally turning drier and cooler as we head towards the end of the week. Winds are turning more northerly and that will make it feel chilly, turning noticeably cooler by day and by night as we move into the weekend."
The Met Office long-range forecast is showing that the "fine and dry" weather could continue into the start of next week, with temperatures starting to rise slightly.
For the period from Sunday, September 18 to Tuesday, September 27, it says: " Winds generally light but breezy along some eastern coasts. Temperatures rather cool initially, with a risk of some rural frosts, patchy mist and fog.
"Temperatures should return closer to average through the week. Wetter and windier conditions are likely at times in the northwest for the remainder of the period whilst the southeast sees more in the way of dry weather.
"Overnight mist and fog patches still possible, especially in the south, but these should clear quickly."
