MEERUT: Former BJP MLA Sangeet Som said that, with rise in terrorism and the way the population of a particular community is increasing, weapons will be required in future. He added that the Rajput community will have to take up weapons amid these problems.
"Importance of weapons has increased in the present time. Weapons will be needed in future, keeping in mind the way terrorism is spreading and the way the population of a particular community is increasing," he said.
He said religion progresses on the strength of sacrifice, penance and dedication. Only education and solidarity can promote the development of society, he added. The former BJP MLA who represented Sardhana assembly constituency made the statement during the Shashtra Poojan (worship of weapons) event organized in Kheda Inter College premises of Sardhana, Meerut, on Wednesday.
