Weakness in the Brazilian Real Undercuts Sugar Prices

May NY world sugar #11 (SBK24) this morning is down -0.57 (-2.57%), and May London ICE white sugar #5 (SWK24) is down -10.20 (-1.62%).

Sugar prices this morning are moderately lower as weakness in the Brazilian real (^USDBRL) sparked long liquidation in sugar futures. The real today dropped to a 4-1/2 month low against the dollar, encouraging export selling from Brazil's sugar producers.
