'We will see' - Southampton striker Che Adams addresses future amid Leeds United transfer links

Southampton striker Che Adams has revealed that he is "happy" at the south coast club, but admitted he "will see what happens" when asked about his future at St Mary's amid links with a move to Leeds United.

Leeds and Everton were both strongly rumoured to be interested in Adams in January, with the Whites reportedly eyeing up the Saints man as a possible addition to their squad in the winter window. The 26-year-old currently tops the goalscoring charts for the St Mary's club, finding the back of the net nine times across all competitions this term.

Close attention is likely to be paid to the ongoing contract discussions between Southampton and Adams as he enters the final year of his current five-year deal at the start of next season. The Saints will be eager for their man to put pen to paper but will equally not want to risk him leaving on a free next year should they fail to reach a timely agreement with the forward.

However, Adams has now looked to put some distance between himself and speculation with a move away from Southampton, as although he claimed he is unsure exactly what will happen, he insisted he is settled as a Saints player.

"I've not actually, I didn't know that," he told Hampshire Live when asked if he has thought about his future with less than 18 months left on his contract. "I am happy to stay here. I have loved every single minute down here. I have got a nice home and we are really settled down here, so we will see what happens.

"That's not in my mind at the moment. I'm just thinking about staying in the Premier League and I know we are going to do that, because the quality we have and the belief now going into the rest of the season, everyone is really happy here."
