We visited lively Arnold cafe and could only find 1 minor flaw

It's the season for hot drinks and staying cosy. We found what reporter Lana Adkin feels is an underrated cafe in Arnold with only one minor flaw...

Cafe Amelia on Arnold’s Front Street, is somewhere I've never been. The cafe with tables and chairs placed outside for customers to sit had friendly and vibrant staff and customers.

Whether you want to go for breakfast, lunch or an early dinner, the cafe's menu has something for everyone. On arrival, I was impressed to see that every table but one was taken. I was greeted by smiling customers - including a baby who waved at me as I walked in.

Taking in my surroundings I walked over to the counter and had a browse at all the cakes. The Adkins Baked chocolate muffin immediately caught my eye, I grabbed it and waited to be served.

I ordered a cappuccino priced at £2.40, which is a pretty standard price for that type of coffee, and my chocolate muffin for £2.19.

The lovely lady at the counter asked me where I was sitting, I kind of panicked as almost every table was full, however, there was one left empty which I quickly grabbed.

After paying, I sat down and before I knew it the waitress was placing my coffee on the table.

It's located on Front Street in Arnold (Nottingham Post)

As I sipped on my coffee - which was just the right temperature - I scanned through what else Amelia's offered. The cafe does toasties, panini’s, main meals like ham and eggs served with chips and more.

The cafe was full of customers, all chatting loudly, it made it seem so lively. The cafe definitely seemed popular with locals and had character. The only thing it lacked was the decor, it’s such a big cafe, with friendly staff and full of customers, but I feel that it could be so much more vibrant.

As much as I loved tucking into my chocolate muffin, I grew increasingly jealous when one man sat in front of me eating an English Breakfast that looked gorgeous. At least I know what I'll be getting next time!
