But recently, the famed designer has piqued our interest with a sneak peek at an unexpected kitchen sink idea that feels unique yet timeless and elegant all at the same time. Here's why she's left us feeling so inspired.
In the video, posted on Joanna's personal Instagram account, she shares an ode to her recently discovered love for making sourdough, promising some more recipes to follow.
But it wasn't her impressive rise that caught our eye on the H&G desk. In fact, it was her kitchen sink that had us in a chokehold.
While the video itself is incredibly aesthetically pleasing, featuring enough jars to make pantry organization aficionados jealous and a light blue Le Creuset to die for, it is the kitchen backsplash that we spotted in the background that really shone.
If you look past the ornate kitchen island (which is hard to ignore, it's so beautiful) to what looks like Joanna's back kitchen, you'll notice rows upon rows of shelves drenched in a rich, moody dark green paint.
The white and grey marble countertop provides a welcome break from the dark green kitchen, while the marble backsplash rises in a curved shape that creates a simple flourish on the paneled wall.
Reminiscent of antique washstands, the concaved corners and ogee profile edges give the kitchen an old-world charm that you don't often see in such a practical space.
Much like the kitchen seen above, designed by deVOL Kitchens, the pink-veined marble countertop flows up to serve as one continuous piece – a great alternative to popular tile ideas.
In the kitchen above, Tess Interiors chose to create a similar look beyond the range instead. Rising up to meet the extractor hood, this green-toned marble slab has a subtle wave to its edge that feels so much softer than a straight edge.
And while blended backsplashes – the use of entire slabs running up and over the kitchen wall – aren't anything new, it's the shape that makes this design really special.
