We tried out the Harvey Nichols £28 3-course meal in Edinburgh and will definitely be back

One of the most luxurious fashion retailers, Harvey Nichols is international renowned for fashion, food and wine and recently launched a full-course meal at an affordable price which is named ‘The Winter Dining Menu.’

Intrigued, Edinburgh Live went along and savoured the opportunity of not only visiting the top floor restaurant with fantastic views of Edinburgh but the 3-course meal for only £28 which includes a St. Germain Spritz.

We arrived at the lavish department store which is located on St Andrew Square and took the lift up to the restaurant and were blown away by the views of the castle and the sights below.

The sights were made even better by the fact as it was a full moon that evening making the views even more spectacular.

It was so easy to forget that we didn’t make the trip to Harvey Nichols top floor for sightseeing but were here for the food and drink.

After savouring the atmosphere, it was time to look at the menu. Each course has three different menu options meaning it’s not restrictive and you have lots to choose from.

Before we looked at the menu we were given a choice of flavours for a St. Germain Spritz. We chose the blood orange preference which was very refreshing.

The pulled honey-mustard ham hock instantly drew our attention and chose it for our starter.

It was served with an orange and shallot salad alongside toasted pine nuts.

The dish really benefited from the mustard flavour and with the salad together with the other ingredients left you with light freshning taste.

For our main we picked, Sicilian sausages served with parmesan polenta alongside with a mushroom and beer gravy.

The sausages were peppered giving us a tingling feeling on the tongue but was rich with flavour and you could really taste that pork flavour with the gravy topping off the sense of classic British cuisine.

Finally, it was time for dessert. We went for the obvious option of the sticky toffee pudding. It was served with a toffee sauce and a subtle-tasting salted caramel ice cream that wasn’t too overpowering.

The Winter Dining menu had an array of choices and wasn’t limited for a set menu. For only £28, for a 3-course meal, with a drink and the astonishing views to add to the experience on the top floor, we will definitely be back.

The Winter Dining Menu has been running for some time now and is due to finish at the end of March 2023.
