South Dublin gastropub Brickyard recently reopened its doors after major renovations and we decided to check it out.
The much-loved Dundrum eatery has undergone an incredible transformation following a complete structural and interior overhaul. On entering the restaurant, we were greeted with a smile by co-owner Simon Moore who showed us around.
Simon's warm and affable nature instantly made us feel at home and he beamed with pride as he spoke about the pub that he first opened alongside Erwin Pollard in 2016. While the restaurant is huge and has a lovely variety of seating for huge crowds and smaller groups, the exposed red brick walls and warm lighting gave it a cosy and intimate feel.

We ordered a refreshing Moscow Mule to kick off our meal with mac and cheese bites and prawn and chorizo pil-pil. The mac and cheese bites came with a delicious truffle aioli.
The outer crust was fried to perfection and the gooey cheese inside left you feeling warm and wanting for more. The prawn and chorizo pil-pil came with a perfect toasted garlic sourdough bread that was made from scratch in-house.
For the mains, we opted for the Korean chicken and waffles and the buttermilk chicken burger. The Korean chicken was tossed in a delicious sweet sauce with a slight hint of spice while the burger was hearty and left us feeling happy and full.
At this point, the food coma was setting in so we ordered a tea and latte. The tea came in an adorable blue teapot and the latte was just what we needed to perk us up after that scrumptious meal. All in all, we 100% recommend Brickyard to all food lovers.
Whether you want to snag a few pints with your mates or have a sit-down dinner with the family, Brickyard has something to offer for everyone.
