Before heading to a restaurant or cafe, many of us often look up the menu before hand so we know what we're having the moment we walk through the doors.
And while scrolling the starter, main and dessert section, we are often left drooling over our phones as we wait to get to the eatery - and Green Gates in Glasgow is no expectation with Glasgow Live having been invited down to try the new 'Special Kabab' menu.
When it comes to the Glasgow food scene, there's so many places to choose from and of course, Indian food is a staple in our city with Green Gates being a must visit.

After a successful beginning in Stirling, Green Gates Cafe now has two restaurants in Glasgow located in Merchant City and Renfrew - and they're both thriving.
Opting to try a selection of their dishes, including their new 'Special Kabab' menu, we definitely see why the eatery was very busy with the restaurant itself absolutely beautiful.
Serving authentic Indian food, there were five options to choose from:
- Mango Tikka -Breast of chicken cooked with mango in a clay oven with Indian Spices
- Reshmi Kabab - Lamb and Chicken minced together cooked in a clay oven with Indian Spices
- Dhai Ka Kabab - Made a yoghurt with Indian Spices - Veg
- Gola Kabab - Minced chicken and cheese cooked in a clay oven
- Dhaka Kebab - Sesame Seeds with Chicken cooked in a clay oven
Opting to try their Mango Tikka, we loved the flavours and the heat from the food. We also managed to try their Butter Chicken and Tandoori King Prawn which were both a great portion as part of their tapas menu. Many of the dishes are small, but as they are tapas, you will want to factor this into your order.
Their menu is fairly expansive with so many items to pick from whether you're gluten-free, vegetarian or prefer to opt for meat or seafood. So it's definitely worth looking at the menu beforehand as we left wanting to try the whole range of dishes - old and new.
The food was gorgeous and the presentation was also great with a lot of attention to detail with it being obvious the staff care about their food and what they're serving.
And in another great and lovely move by the restaurant, a complimentary, warming Amuse Bouche Indian Soup will be waiting for you on arrival which they say is to "awake the senses before embarking on a taste through India".
Their cocktail menu was also great with each one we tried being served with dry ice giving a new dimension and experience to your drink. Despite all the ice, the drinks were nice and strong and were a great size costing £8.95 for each of them.
And don't worry if you would rather avoid alcohol as you can get mocktails - just ask the staff and they, like the night we went, were more than happy to try and adapt their drinks to help suits every individuals needs.
The restaurant, at 24 Candleriggs, is clearly a success and for a good reason. Just recently Green Gates Cafe welcomed three of the stars from BBC sitcom Two Doors Down. Jonathan Watson, Elaine C Smith and Kieran Hodgson were spotted having dinner as part of a larger group at the restaurant, which serves up Indian food.
Overall, it's a hidden gem in Glasgow that perhaps not many people are aware of - but we hope this changes and more people flock through their doors.
