We tried Glasgow's Doh Doughnuts and think they might be up there with the best we've had

They do say that some of the best things in life happen by accident, and, where you to go back to 2020 and tell partners Lynsey Graham and Lisa Banks that a mistaken purchase of a bag of flour would lead to one of the city's best doughnut brands being created, they surely wouldn't have believed you.

The pair now run Doh Doughnuts which supplies some of Glasgow's top coffee shops with the tasty treat and have also recently opened up their first venue beside Shawarma King on King Street.

And strangely, the decision to start this whole doughnut empire arrived after Lisa, who was working as a chef at the time, was given the wrong bag of flour.

The entrepreneur revealed that the bread flour pack (which was supposed to be plain flour) had a recipe for doughnuts on the side and deciding to try it out one night with Lynsey led to a new passion – and career for the pair.

Feeling curious about this serendipitous story, and wanting to try them out for ourselves, Glasgow Live headed along on a Thursday afternoon to find out more about these rising stars of the baked treats game.

Take a trip to the Doh-nut Hole (Angus Hyde)

And well, you can't miss it, the self-styled 'Doh-nut Hole' is surrounded by bright pink branding (we were instantly reminded of that famous Simpson's doughnut) which draws you in and reminds you of what's in store.

Using the US-style brioche yeasted dough, the creative duo revealed that they want their shop to be as inclusive as possible, meaning that they aim for vegans to have as many choices as possible when it comes to their delicious range.

And what a range it is, seriously, waiting for us behind the glass was the likes of the millionaire shortcake, maple pecan pie, mango, passion fruit and lime, and Biscoff.

Seriously, our mouths are watering just at the memory of it.

And don't worry if you need a wee coffee fix because the duo are only happy to provide that too, with the good stuff supplied by the Cessnock-based specialists Good Coffee Cartel.

The duo revealed that staying local when it comes to suppliers has played a big part in their offering.

We enjoyed a lovely flat white on one of their tables outside and got a trio of delicious doughnuts to try.

We picked up a Blueberry Crumble, a Boston Cream and an incredible, Maple Pecan Pie Doughnut (seriously, who could resist?).

Sweet and tart, the Blueberry Crumble got us off to a great start, while the Boston Cream was deliciously moreish and finally, the Maple Pecan Pie was just sublime.

Overall, Doh Doughnuts are definitely one to watch, providing some of the most delicious doughnuts we have tried in the city.

So if you're looking to satisfy your urge for a fantastic sweet treat, Doh is a great local Glaswegian business that is sure to fill that doughnut-shaped hole
