'We tried drinks from the Dublin pub with the largest number of taps in Ireland - and they were amazing'

A Dublin City Centre bar is offering over fifty craft beers, organic wines and even cocktails on tap.

We tried some of the beers, meals, and cocktails offered at Tapped. We were told in advance the bar, located on Nassau Street, had the largest number of taps on site in Ireland. The cocktails are made in the bar’s “cocktail lab” every day.

The first thing we noticed was that the bar was full of young people in their twenties and thirties, friend groups and couples on dates, so there was a nice youthful vibe going on. The place has an industrial and colourful aesthetic. One really big plus is that the music was not too loud and we could actually hear each other without having to yell.

First, we tried a couple of beers from their extensive beer list. We asked for recommendations and we were offered “the stout that’s just like Guinness” and a lager that we were promised would taste “fruity”. Both drinks were super fresh, light and drinkable – ideal for the upcoming warmer months and evenings spent with friends and colleagues.

The stout was not as heavy as a Guinness but it still retained the nice sweet aftertaste we want from it. Meanwhile, the lager was like a burst of summer that pops in your mouth, with a citrus and blueberry feel to it.

We then got some food. We ordered the buffalo spice bag, which was delicious and surprisingly healthy. It wasn’t greasy, and the breaded chicken was brilliantly crispy. There were also some peppers, onion, fennel, buffalo and garlic sauce which had a brilliant lemon-y tang. It's a very large portion so it’s better shared with friends.

We also tried their fantastic Original wrap, with breaded chicken breast pieces, shredded lettuce, coleslaw mix, red onion and mixed peppers. We noticed the menu has vegetarian options so those staying away from meat can also enjoy the Tapped experience.

We moved to cocktails then, and we got a Margarita and a Whiskey Sour. Both cocktails were not too overpowered but still had a nice slight punch to them, ideal for those who just want to enjoy a cocktail for the sake of it.

Overall, Tapped is a great bar with a youthful vibe, great food and drinks. The prices are also affordable for Dublin - their most expensive food is the buffalo wings at €14.95, with almost everything else being less than a tenner. Many of the beers were around €6 or €7 with the most expensive one being the Belgian beer Samichlaus which was €10.40.
