We visited a historic South Queensferry inn which has a fascinating history, following its refurbishment and will definitely be back.
The pub, located on Newhalls Road, officially reopened its doors to guests on Friday June, 10 and was fully booked for its first weekend open.
The Hawes Inn has undergone an extensive renovation over the last four week which has transformed both the interior and exterior of the country pub.

As soon as we walked in to the inn located on the Firth of the Forth seafront in Queensferry it felt like we'd been whisked away to the country despite only being a couple miles out of the city.
The new look pays homage to the traditional roots and picturesque location while also offering a bright, contemporary take on a classic country pub.
Throughout the warm stylish new decor there are homages to the historic inn's fascinating past with pictures of Robert Louis Stevenson and Kidnapped hung on the walls throughout.
The traditional inn gets a mention in the famous books, and Robert Louis Stevenson himself spent time at the inn while writing Kidnapped allegedly.
The dining area, lounge area and most of the rooms look out onto the stunning Forth Bridges and the Firth of the Forth, boasting incredible views.
With summer coming and many cruise liners set to dock at South Queensferry the charming inn will be packed with delighted tourists over the next couple of months.
The interior of the family friendly inn is deceivingly huge - we could not believe how much space there is for dining and drinks.
The restaurant can seat 300 covers and there are several areas that can be rented privately for special occasions and meetings.
Before sitting down for a hearty breakfast we were kindly shown around the newly refurbished inn days before its grand reopening.

The brunch was absolutely delicious, I'd go as far as saying one of the best breakfasts I have ever had in Edinburgh.
We opted for a classic full breakfast and full vegetarian breakfast with a latte and a mocha and some orange juice on the side.
The bacon and sausages were really high quality, and were served with a perfectly cooked egg, two chunky pieces of crunchy sourdough toast, beans on the side, hash browns and tomato with mushrooms.
We opted for the largest breakfast available and it was the perfect pick me up to keep you full well into the afternoon.
The veggie breakfast came with a beetroot hash cake and all the trimmings of a full breakfast.
The coffee was smooth and delicious too and served with a homemade macaroon.
As well as the exciting refurbishment the classic inn has launched a brand new menu.
The new dinner menu will offer a number of delicious, freshly cooked dishes including chargrilled skewers, stonebaked pizzas, steaks and roasts.
Alongside the delicious food offering, guests can also sample the extensive selection of wines, gins, craft beers and cocktails.
In addition to lunch and dinner, the pub will now offer a brunch menu which boasts a selection of popular dishes from 9am until midday Monday to Saturday and 11.30am on Sundays.
