We simulated Arsenal vs Brentford on FIFA to get a score prediction Gunners fans will love

Arsenal can move above West Ham into fifth place in the Premier League this weekend, as they take on relegation-threatened Brentford on Saturday afternoon.

The Gunners will be without Gabriel Martinelli for the game against the Bees after the 20-year-old was sent off in the 1-0 win against Wolves, with Michael Oliver showing two yellow cards to the Brazilian attacker in the space of 10 seconds. Mikel Arteta will have a fully fit squad to select from other than Martinelli due to suspension after Takehiro Tomiyasu recovered from a slight knock and trained with the first team this week.

So, what line-ups will both teams select? And, what could the final score be?

We used FIFA 22 to get a score prediction for Arsenal versus Brentford on Saturday and this is what happened...

Arsenal vs Brentford score predicted by simulation

We used kick-off mode in FIFA 22, but didn't select a team to control, we then selected the teams and watched the match play out by itself, to give us a score prediction.

We predict that Arsenal could set up in a 4-2-3-1 formation, with their line-up as follows: Ramsdale; Cedric, White, Gabriel, Tierney; Partey, Xhaka; Saka, Odegaard, Smith Rowe; Lacazette.

We predict that Brentford could set up in a 5-2-3 formation, with their line-up as follows: Raya; Canos, Ajer, Jansson, Pinnock, Henry; Dasilva, Norgaard, Jensen; Wissa, Mbeumo.

Arsenal started quickly and took the lead within the opening 10 minutes through Alexandre Lacazette, as the French striker fired the ball past Raya at his near post following a mix up in the penalty box from a Gunners' corner kick.

Emile Smith Rowe's corner kick looped into the box and caused a scramble for the ball as Gabriel's header came back off of the crossbar, before falling to Martin Odegaard on the penalty spot with the Norwegian using his composure to find Lacazette unmarked, who finished the move with a brilliant finish around Raya at the near post, making it 1-0 to the Gunners.

Arteta's side continued to press and probe Brentford's defence in search of a second goal, but the visitors were able to hold on until the half-time break, keeping the deficit at just a single goal heading into the second half.

Arsenal's dominance led to some complacent play midway through the second half as Brentford managed to find an equaliser through Bryan Mbeumo after his low shot trickled into the net past Ramsdale who was unsighted and lost track of the ball following a deflection off of Gabriel.

A loose pass in midfield from Granit Xhaka handed Brentford possession as the visitors worked the ball wide before crossing it into Mbeumo's feet. The French striker took one touch out of his feet and shot on the swivel, as the ball deflected off of the inside of Gabriel's leg and zipped past Ramsdale who was unable to react in time to keep it out, making it 1-1 at the Emirates with 20 minutes to play.

Arteta responded to conceding with a surprise substitution, taking off Xhaka for Nicolas Pepe as the Gunners reverted into a 4-1-4-1 shape with Odegaard and Smith Rowe ahead of Partey in midfield.

This proved to be a stroke of genius from Arteta as Pepe was played in behind the Brentford defence by Smith Rowe before firing the ball across goal into the far corner to give Arsenal a 2-1 lead with just six minutes to play in north London.

Tomiyasu started the move for the Gunners by driving forward with the ball from defence before feeding the ball centrally into Partey, with the Ghanaian midfielder playing it forward into Smith Rowe.

Smith Rowe beat two Brentford midfielders before threading the ball through the defence into Pepe's path, with the Ivorian smashing the ball past Raya and sending the home fans wild.

Arsenal saw out the game and took all three points in a crucial win ahead of another fixture against Wolves, with the Gunners hoping to maintain their momentum and form heading into the remainder of the season.

FIFA 22 predicted final score: Arsenal 2-1 Brentford

FIFA 22 predicts that Arsenal could start the game strongly and take an early lead through Lacazette, before a defensive error cost them their clean sheet with Bryan Mbeumo equalising for the away side.

But substitutions could prove pivotal against the Bees, with Pepe scoring a late winner for the hosts in this simulation, predicting that Arsenal could earn a vital three points in the hunt for Champions League football this weekend.
